Asian looking lady Highlighting Surratt Cosmetics

About this product

Our award-winning face brush effortlessly diffuses powder products. Use it to evenly distribute and blend loose or pressed powders (bronzers, blushes, highlighters, setting powders) with whisper-soft strokes.

Surratt is committed to the Japanese philosophy of Monozukuri, or craftsmanship. Each brush is crafted from hand-tied natural fibers with precision and care by a skilled artisan.

Tips

Washing Your Surratt Brushes: We recommend washing your brushes once a week. To make the experience more enjoyable, use a light, conditioning shampoo with a fragrance you love. Under warm water, gently lather the bristles, and rinse thoroughly until no visible lather or pigment remains.

Drying Your Surratt Brushes: To ensure your brushes are dried thoroughly, and to maintain their longevity, we suggest drying them on a towel placed on a cookie sheet. Position the brushes so that the bristles face down, and the handles rest on the edge of the cookie sheet. This will ensure that any remaining moisture flows away from the metal and wood parts of the brush.

Excellent brush! Totally different to the Z1

I’m a collector and all around hoarder of Fude brushes with an extensive collection from many different brands consisting of a wide variety of hair types. With my skin leaning more and more toward the dry end I have a fondness for squirrel and Fox hair. There’s something about a large fluffy round powder brush I can’t resist. I had the Chikuhodo Z1 for a few years before I took the plunge on the Surratt Face Brush and did and still do love it. I read the reviews and watched the videos coming away thinking it was just another Z1 making me loose interest. I decided to buy it about a year ago when there was a 30% promotion and am so glad I did!

After using this brush for the last year I can confidently say this is in no way the same brush as the Chikuhodo Z1 at all. Completely different brushes in size, shape, density and overall application. The Surratt bristles measure at 46mm in length and Z1 is 45mm and while that is a minuscule amount it makes for a huge difference in a brush. The Surratt brush head is round and the Z1 is more domed so when bloomed they have a totally different shape. The Z1 is 20mm in density. I was unable to locate density on this brush so can’t confirm one is denser than the other. The Surratt has more firmness and snap. The Z1 is fluffier and more airy. All in all both brushes are magnificent and well worth buying if your able. They each have their uses and work differently with products.
